(Apologies if this was asked before.)
I was wondering how the "rewards" of paid survey applications such as YouGov or Swagbucks are taxed, if at all.
Would it make a difference if, using the points, you get an (e.g., Amazon) gift card or if you get cash for it (e.g., as YouGov allows)?

AIUI it counts as self employed earnings, but unless you earn more than £1000 you don't need to declare and there's no tax as it's covered by the trading allowance. But if you're already self employed you'll need to add it to your self employed earnings so you'll likely pay tax on the lot. See https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/make-money-online/
