Letting Agent Credit Check

Morning, I am about to apply for a rental property through a letting agent with my partner and I have a DMP with Payplan and two defaults showing on my account. I’ve been asked on the form to declare adverse credit/CCJ/IVA/Bankruptcy. My understanding is the check will not show defaults and I don’t have any of the others requested. I don’t want to be to honest if it affects our application.
Has anyone had any experience of this and can confirm letting agents will only see a public record.
After years of getting my debt sorted, credit checks have shot my nerves to pieces!
