I need some advice , my mortgage broker submitted my application with bluestone mortgages on 7/2/23. The last update from him was on 27/2/23 and he told us that the application was still with underwriter.
we have tried to call him and email him , no answer.
I called Bluestone mortgages but they said they can’t discuss the application with us and we need to contact the mortgage advisor even after explaining he is not answering his phone or email.
I’m stressed and frustrated because the Estate agents wants to know what’s happening and why the mortgage application is taking too long and I don’t what to do .
any advise ?

Do you have a physical address from this broker? He could be in hospital, family emergency, or deceased. It happens. No free lunch, and no free laptop1

He may have just shut up shop. Had he been in business long. Many brokers started up when mortgage applications were relatively straight forward but the market has now turned and it is much harder to get mortgage applications through.1

We did a 2 year deal with our broker. 2 years later got a generic renewal email but no reply to our email & telephone response so ended up renewing with another broker but ours resurfaced a few weeks later saying he'd been dealing with a family emergency and the new broker had gotten us the better deal.
Fast forward 2 years and the old broker contacted us and secured us a renewal just before Truss took power, the "new" broker contacted us after that and similarly said the prior deal was better than they could do.0 -
You should have a terms of business and an illustration. Both of them should have a "what to do if you want to make a complaint" - is that a network or is it just the brokers number?
At a stretch, if you have an account number (usually begins BL and then some numbers), you could ask your solicitor if they could call up. They are not really set up for that, but it could be worth a try. Failing that, ask if you can speak to a manager at Bluestone and see if explaining what has happened.
The last thing you really want to do is to re-apply as it gets you back to day 1 (although rates have since come down since your application I think).

Did you pay him anything? If not just move onto another reputable broker. If you did then check to see if the broker was registered with a regulatory body and complain via that route.0
