New builds council tax challenfe

Options
Our close was built 6 years ago and put into band D (all properties are 2 beds)
Neighbouring properties are all in band C (and have extra bedroom).
similar close built opposite at the same time is also band C.
we of course feel this is unjust and want to challenge but can’t find any info how to challenge tax bands for newly builds?
Rules on here refer to 1991 but that doesn’t apply to us. Help?

All dwellings are banded based on what they would have sold for as at 1 April 1991 had they been in existence at that time, There are plenty of threads on this board relating to challenging CT bands, the age of the dwelling does not matter.

Briefly you have to submit evidence to the VOA to support your claim for a lower band, quoting the Band C houses would be a start, It is strange that nobody in the close has thought to challenge the band in the past 6 years.

Finally do be aware there is an outside chance that your band is correct and the Band C houses are incorrect
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
