SolarImmersion & Wifi Timer Switch

I have a SolarImmersion unit that diverts my solar power to my hot water tank immersion heater.
I would like to try & take advantage of the Octopus Agile low rates though the night to top up
the heat in the hot water tank.
The water is mainly heated by gas.
Could I install a Wifi switch like the one below to set the immersion heater to come on to take
advantage of the low Agile rates during the night ?
https://www.heatingcontrolsonline.co.uk/optimium-wifi-immersion-heater-timer.html
Access to the immersion heater switch is awkward & I would be needing to to adjust
the time on a daily basis as the new rates are published.
TIA

    Thanks for the link.
Yes that's a similar thing, slightly better than the one I linked to.
I fitted my SolarImmersion switch about 12 years ago so I will have to find
the wiring diagram & see how to wire that wifi switch in.
I might be back to seek some more information from you.
    😁😁
    Many thanks

You may find your have a simple on/off switch for the immersion heater close by the cylinder (so typically inside the airing cupboard).  If so, all you have to do is replace the basic on'off switch with the Timeguard switch (which incorporates a manual switch as well as the WiFi control function).

greyteam 1959 said he had a solarimmersion so the wifi switch will need to be situated close to it, to enable it to be in parallel with it.

Your solar immersion comes with a setting in control system to be able to use economy 7.

Yes I have, but that switch is on all the time so that the SolarImmersion can work.

My SolarImmersion unit is in a pretty inaccessible location that's why I was considering the wifi switch.

I did look at that setting in the manual but I don't think it will do what I want to do.
I want to be able to look at the Octopus Agile rates every day & then set the immersion to operate when the published rate drops to my advantage ie Plunge Pricing.
That would mean adjusting the times or turning it off every day perhaps.
Which I don't think that setting on the SolarImmersion would do.

I used a Tapo P110 to control and monitor the consumption of a 1.5Kw immersion. They are only £10, but are not suitable for 3Kw or more.

a  pic of where your solarimmersion is might help ,because what ever device you use would have to link the input and output of  it .A wifi switch may work fitted inside its box
