Having early morning coffee in bed is always a wee treat. My machine is on the hall window ledge so I haven't got far to go. 😀
Yesterday I did some more financial tweaking as I reviewed a couple of savings accounts, then decided that they were pretty useless so closed them. Both involved phone calls to the relevant banks. So much for the push to online and mobile banking. Actually the calls were very pleasant, almost chatty. One chap from a call centre in England told me about his holiday home in Ballater whilst the second person was based not half a mile from my old flat in Newcastle.
This morning I have to drive down to Glasgow for my yearly optometrist appointment. Once there I have a couple of orders to collect from Marks and a little shopping to do but I'll be straight back home. Perhaps the rain will hold off to give me a good journey?I hope that everyone is doing well. I'm so pleased that our clocks spring forward tonight. Happy Saturday to all.12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Showery this morning, I think it's to rain on and off all day. Washing will either go in the TD or on the pulley.
Busy day yesterday looking after a high tarriff child until after lunch, didn't get a stroke of my own work done but had fun anyway, ended up playing in a rather large puddle in the playground!
Family arriving today, big roast dinner later - we're having the bargain turkey crown I got a few weeks ago. Must make some yorkies for DGS.
Hope all's well with you, have a good weekend. Take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new Daily. What a blooming night we had with torrential rain battering the front windows. So loud it actually woke me up. Fortunately it's eased off this morning and there are snippets of blue sky emerging but, as yet, no sun.
I currently have the bedding in washing but there is no chance of it getting pegged outside today. It will festoon the back bedroom with the dehumidifier doing it's job. I've just emptied it in readiness and it never ceases to amaze me just how much water it collects.
No early trip into town this morning, there is nothing I am stuck for, so I am thinking I might actually start the big wardrobes clear out today! There is too much stuff I never wear and I am psyching myself up to be ruthless! (I may have said that before!)
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, recovering or MIA. Safe drive to Glasgow GERS and CAMELOT have a lovely family weekend. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all, poor nights sleep again for me due to the heavy rain, I wish I wasn't such a light sleeper. Yesterday DH & DB had a tricky journey back from the NEC, driving rain on the M6 so he was later back than expected, but they both enjoyed the cars on show, classic cars.I offerd DS the choice of the fish he didn't eat on Thursday, or pork tenderloin- didn't want the fish and said he fancied Korean pork. I cobbled together 2 recipes found online as I didn't have some of the ingredients but it came out well cooked in the Ninjagrill, served with rice- cauli rice in my case. There is some left for my lunch today.I fully expect to get soaked watching DGS this morning. The good thing about him moving teams is they usually kick off later so the club can fit 2 lots of games in, loads of teams under the 1 umbrella club. DGD's is early tomorrow though, meet at 8.30. Both the DGC got their schools 'Star of the week' yesterday so they have 1 proud DadPlaying in puddles sounds fun Camelot- makes a change for you. I was doing the same all week picking up DGS, only difference is mine wasn't intentionalTime for another brew before we set off. Have a good Saturday all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Morning all. Stressful day yesterday to attend appointments, either mine or the cats, but only the one today and then one tomorrow. We're going to the local [used to be] village hall twice yearly quiz tonight and then tomorrow I'm going to the Ideal Home show. I was supposed to go last year but got covid. Better take my stick...Other than that, I plan to sit around most of the day except for a quick check of the compost bins and a fill of one of them and check the water butts after yet more torrential rain last night. They were almost full yesterday..and I have replaced the glass again so it's not going to get wet in the greenhouse any more.snoozer, I tried your tray bake thing but next time I think I'll cook the onions first, they came out a bit crunchy but it was really really nice..so I also bought the cookbook...
Gers, safe driving there and back..I love the idea of the coffee machine on the windowsil, that's proper not giving a monkeys about conventional places for things. camelot, gad you had puddle fun, we should all do that more often, with waterproof shoes obviously. Izzy, fit in a bit of relax in your weekend somewhere...
carolbee, potting on!! I haven't even sowed anything yet! I'm behind!! Take care all, it's a bit windy and wild today...

Morning all, it's sunny again with dark skies looming but the forecast is for dry weather this afternoon so I'll put a wash on and cross my fingers that I can hang it out.
I found my lost jigsaw piece yesterday, it was stuck between the sofa cushions, so while the cushions were off the sofa I hoovered under them and wiped down the rest of the sofa. It's all nice and clean now but I don't know where all the bits come from, another of life's mysteries I suppose. The jigsaw has been broken up and put away too so it can be done again.
Today I have a big bag of carrots to prepare for the freezer and a few parsnips. If the weather holds there are some small tree branches that need cutting up and putting in the green waste bins as the collections restart on Monday. Tea tonight will be chicken and oven chips.
Take care all, stay safe and dry if you can. Hugs to anyone in need

Hi everyone,
It was a busy day yesterday. We went to the zoo with Chris and Crystal, their little one and Esben, lots of walking. Then we got home just in time to throw a ping meal down our necks and go to the charity quiz. We won for the first time in ages, we normally come second to another group but this time they only came third, maybe they were a member short. Why are the prizes always bottles of wine, I'd much rather have chocolates.
Today Laura is going to her best friend's birthday do so we will have the children. Esther seems to have forgotten how to feed from a bottle but will happily drink from a cup so we should be ok.
Have a good day.11
