PureGym Prices

I joined at my local PureGym a year ago with an off-peak membership. I noticed the price is now £12.99 for new members, but I'm still being charged £9.99 which is what it was when I joined (there wasn't a fixed period or offer). Do PureGym prices stay fixed for life or something like that?

DIRECT DEBIT PRICES
- From time to time we may need to increase the price of membership. We will give you at least 1 full months' notice of any incoming price increase and will make it very clear when the price increase will take effect and how much your membership will cost after the increase. During this period, you will have your usual right to terminate your membership in accordance with the membership terms and conditions and rules. If you do not terminate the membership by the date given to you in the notice, then the price of your membership will be increased in accordance with our notice.

It is not uncommon for gym prices to vary between members and length of membership is one parameter that can affect it.Ash_Pole said:I joined at my local PureGym a year ago with an off-peak membership. The business model for gym is people sign up for a direct debit but never actually attend. The gym has no incentive to write to such inactive members with a price increase as it is most likely to prompt a cancellation.
I know my gym lost many inactive members when they were forced to write to them about the COVID suspensions and all it did was to remind these members that they still had a DD going out every month that had been forgotten about.
I am amazed at the low cost for your membership - I know PureGym is one of the more competitive brands, but my local branch is £40 per month.0
