Buy extra years for pension ?

That is indeed incorrect. The 35 years for a max pension is mostly a myth, the actual number depends on personal contribution circumstances, the number could be as low as 29 or as high as 50 (based on previous posters). As has been said you need 6 further years to get close to the max, so closer to £4800 needed to be paid for the years.r3dc45r said:I figured that 2 more years would take me to 35 complete years and allow me the max pension of £185 per week
Is this incorrect?
The only people who will absolutely get the full state pension after 35 years are ones that started their working life after April 6th 2016.1
