NHS Non Consolidated/Pay Award 22/23

I worked for the NHS up until Oct/Nov last year and wondered regarding the news of the non consolidated one of payments they are receiving for that year which I don't think have been paid just yet.

Considering I worked there for half of that year, should I be entitled to part of this pro rata of course?

If anyone can shed some light on this would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

  • Which country are you referring to? If England then there has been no pay offer accepted as yet - it's due to be voted on so finer details won't be known until if it is accepted. However there would no advantage to the tax payer of you being awarded it and unions possibly wouldn't be interested in someone they no longer represent.

    13. Will recently retired staff receive the non-consolidated payments for their work in the 2022/23 year?
These non-consolidated payments apply to staff directly employed by an NHS organisation (e.g., permanent and fixed term contracts) as set out in Annex 1 of the handbook on Agenda for Change terms as of 31 March 2023. Any individual who has left NHS employment before that date is not eligible for these non-consolidated payments.
  • I wonder if TUPE'd staff who are on the Agenda for Change pay scale are classed as leaving the NHS for the purposes of the non consolidated award?

The employees would need to be in the employment of an NHS organisation within schedule 1 of Agenda for Change on 31st March 2023 for it to be applicable.

If they transferred before this date, there is no contractual obligation on the transferee to implement the new pay award (unless the new employer was also listed within schedule one) as it would be considered a static agreement under TUPE.

Totally get that, but if its backdated to April 22 when I was working there then it begs the question, hence why I asked.

Not an unreasonable question, but the clause referred to above by cmthephoenix is pretty standard, not just in the NHS but business in general.  There are exceptions.
  • I worked for nhs England for 25 years until I relocated to nhs wales at Wrexham in February this year. Does this mean I won’t get any of the 2022/23 payments either? I didn’t get the Welsh payout in March for last year because I wasn’t here either
