It should be clearly stated in the contract of employment.
And it depends on how long you've worked there.
There's some information from acas in the following link -
https://www.acas.org.uk/notice-periods/notice-when-resigning
And you can always ask HR at Marks and Spencer.
Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Verify everything in order to protect yourself as you are responsible for any action you consequently take.0 -
Provided you have worked there for at least a month, the statutory notice you need to give is one week. That never increases. However your written particulars of employment issued by M&S (your written contract) may include a longer period. If you cannot find that, ask HR for a copy.princess23 said:Hi could anyone tell me the notice period needed for Marks and Spencer please on a part-time contract. TIA0 -
Someone could... your manager or HR. It'd be dangerous to take advice from a random person off the internet as even if they are honestly telling you whats in their contract doesnt mean that your contract is the same. In my team (not M&S) our notice period ranges from 1 week to 3 months... a few years ago it would have been 1 week to 12 months but that chap left (PILON in case you are wondering)princess23 said:Hi could anyone tell me the notice period needed for Marks and Spencer please on a part-time contract.
