Topping up ni contributions

I'm trying to top up ni before end of July.  I've logged in my state pension and found my forecast it says I can top up but when I try and do this online it is asking for a number starting 60 which is on a bill. Where do I get this from

You need to contact the Future Pension Centre for them to confirm that the years you wish to top up will add to your pension.

You then contact HMRC to get the reference number to pay.

Just because your forecast says you can top up does not necessarily mean you should purchase a particular year if it is pre 2016

Where did you read that ?  Are you under 23 ?  If not, and I think I know where you read it, that bit doesn't apply to you.

No! Only if you are born this century and so started your working life since the introduction of the new State Pension in 2016. Everyone else is under transitional rules and may need more or fewer years - anything from 29 to 50!

anyone succeeded in getting through toFuture Pensions Centre last few weeks. Continually engaged had no joy whatsoever. Any other way rather than phoning ?

I tried multiple times last week. Eventually got through but had 'accidentally' selected the wrong option (2 on the final choice, I think - just thought I'd try something different). I was then transferred and got connected within a few rings ...
