Good morning,
I was wondering if anybody clued up on the holiday entitlement
I have a contact that started on the 2nd January 2018
In my contact quotes this
“You are entitled to take a maximum 25 days as holiday per holiday year l (including statutory public holidays)
my questions are
1: Is it 25 days or 28 days that I should be receiving ( I work 5.5 days a week) ?

Point 1. What are full time hours in your work place and is your 5.5 days full time, part time, include overtime? Some people may work 5 days but only do a couple of hours a day so are effectively part time
Ref point 2. This means your bank holidays are included in your 25 days total. Does your workplace close on bank holidays? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Statutory annual leave entitlement
Most workers who work a 5-day week must receive at least 28 days’ paid annual leave a year. This is the equivalent of 5.6 weeks of holiday.Limits on statutory leave
Statutory paid holiday entitlement is limited to 28 days. For example, staff working 6 days a week are only entitled to 28 days’ paid holiday.
Bank holidays
Bank or public holidays do not have to be given as paid leave.
An employer can choose to include bank holidays as part of a worker’s statutory annual leave.

That holiday entitlement above has been in place since 2009. If he gets 25 in total and not 25 & Bank Holidays then a problem.0

Assuming you count as full time, which it seems your do, then you are entitled to a minimum of 28 days (5.6 weeks) paid holiday.
Are there perhaps 3 days a year when the business is closed, so those days count as part of your holiday leaving 25 other days to be booked as leave?0 -
Hi OP
Have you seeked advice form personnel about this?
Perhaps you want to seek advice from union rep as they are helpful.
ACAS is very good in all sorts of work situations but if you have not tried personnel, give them a cal/visit and you may find them very helpful as many are confused by contracts/hols entitlements etc etc
ACAS, you may want a look at this before calling

Good luck0
