Losing weight comes down to calorie deficit.
Gaining weight means calorie surplus.
The tea to drink with lunch is fine.
Try to establish a habit of regular meals and no snacks.
Breakfast is important - something with oats will keep you feeling fuller for longer and release the energy slowly.0 -
It is the stress calories that come back to bite - those times of day when you want a pick me up - towards the end of the day when you want something to see you over the finish line - quite often its a psychological thing. Accept they occur - have a bananana. One of the things that helped me cut down on buying lunch at the canteen or buying chocolate for snacks is the price - when I saw that a bunch of bananas cost less than maybe two bars of chocoalte - i suddenly bought a lot less. Also light lunches with maybe steamed rice, veggie options like tofu or quorn and veg - may not seem that sexy, but the less bloating means you often feel less tired and less likely to buying the chocolate for a pick me up.Seriously, focus on how much cashy your blowing and suddenly you will find yourself not only losing pounds but saving pounds sterling.0

Carbs are not essential for life. In USA, many doctors advocate low carb diets for Type 2 diabetes and COPD.
Quitting the doughnuts would be great, ditto bread, cake, pies, biscuits, pastries, crisps, chips, ice cream, sweets, chocolates, energy drinks.
Don't binge on fruit as fructose can only be processed by the liver and excess belly fat can indicate a fatty liver. You can Google low carb fruit. Berries are great. Nuts are a good snack.
I wouldn't worry about low carb veg, if you are cutting out the doughnuts etc. Except potatoes. Try to avoid those. Yes, spuds have Vitamin C but one red bell pepper = your Vitamin C for the day.
Try salads in summer and big chunky soups in winter. You could also use konjac rice to make yourself a sort of risotto for a wide mouth flask.
As for exercise, search on YouTube for exercises for seniors and start with those, as they will be low impact gentle stuff. When overweight, you aren't doing your knees any favours by running on a treadmill or jogging. Cycling would be better and swimming also. These take the weight off your knees but exercise your muscles.
