Platform Mortgage Underwriting

Hi guys,

my partner and I have had an offer a accepted on a property in Scotland.

we are selling our main home and keeping another flat which we use as a holiday home now and again, although mainly paying the mortgage as a pension pot.

we are going through platform and have submitted all required supporting documents via Better (broker). The valuation has been undertaken and now it’s been passed to a senior underwriter - should we be worried?

Has anybody else has this with Platform or maybe it’s a standard process?

Thanks for your comment Leah. 

My broker said we've already been underwritten. Is this mainly to check the valuation is satisfactory more than anything else then?

If your case has already been underwritten and they’ve agreed your application subject to valuation, then it’ll just be a case of Platform assessing the valuation report to ensure figures stack up and there are no obvious issues to prevent them from lending.
