I was talking to a friend this morning who told me it was possible to get tax relief on my child maintenance payments.
I am paying my sons mother directly and did not require court as we are amicable and remained friends.
I am working full time and have my son most weekends and school holidays, does anyone know if it is possible to get tax relief on the £205 I pay her monthly?

This used to be the case when parents received child tax allowances. Not since they were discontinued. The person who has not made a mistake, has made nothing0

You definitely can get tax relief for Child Maintenance.
Whether many people will meet the qualifying criteria is doubtful though!
