Trying to get a second charge from 2017 removed - Elderbridge

We were about to close on a new mortgage when the Solicitor informed us we had a second charge on our mortgage it is from a loan with Elderbridge which was repaid in 2017. I have spoken to Elderbridge who said they requested their Solicitor to remove the charges in 2017 obviously this was never actioned. Elderbridge contacted their Solicitor yesterday to request the charge is removed. Has anyone else been in the same boat and if so how long did it take to resolve.
