£16.04 over, mostly due to the long ramble and pub lunch with friends. No regrets though. I'm back from holiday and have bought milk, veg sausages, ciabatta, tuna, pesto, pasta, soft fruit and Greek style yogurt and salad veg. Ate a lot of croissants while away - Dunnes food store in Dublin does Sicilian lemon ones - and drank a half of Guinness.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

Hi everyone
@mumtoomany I prefer not to buy Halal because of the way it has been slaughtered, I have nothing against the meat but don't want to encourage slaughter without stunning and will leave the meat for those who have to have meat that has been ritually slaughtered.
Since I was last here I have been spending, £59 in m&s on tinned stuff, packed lunches and a roast meal deal for £10. That included a whole chicken and the carcass can go to the vixen which will save me giving her a tin of dog food.
I went to Aldi today, 36 loo rolls, bottles of bleach, tins of soup etc, staples that should see us through to payday on 15th.
I'm not going to set a target this month but will be mindful of what I spend and record it in my diary with a view to establishing a target for June.
Enjoy the Bank Holiday tomorrow, I am already prepped for the coronation with a turkey crown I picked up in T3sco a few day after Christmas, £3.50 reduced from £15

Total for April £301.98/£270. Over budget by £31.98
Not my best performance and although I can't change it, I can learn from it. Nothing excessive purchased, and not much bought that hasn't been used but we had visitors and we are running out of store cupboard stocks.
See you all over in May.

I'm finishing the month at £429.75 for the year so far, out of an annual target of £1200, so a bit over but will try to spend less next month. I've got some stocks in so should be ok. The £16.60 I spent today at Mr. S was really for May but as I needed some vegetables I bought stuff for the store cupboard that had extra nectar point offers, like porridge, which will always get eaten.

Well we finished the month with 28.48p balance from £250. So will move £25 to "wallet" and start with £200 again - keeping back £75 this month in the kitty which is being used to stash. I have previously run our month till the money has run out but that seems to complicate things a little. I have a shopping list for Aldi and if that comes under the £25 we have left I will make it to the 3rd of May as that will be my pension day payment going forward.
See you on the new board.

I declare this month a learning curve... we have been spending £800+ per month and spent £230 in the first week of April (lightbulb moment).
I was aiming for £600 but have gone over with a total spend of £768.35
That said, we buy lottery tickets, some clothing and other non grocery items at the supermarkets but this month I have used the bank statement to draw down what we have spent. Using the receipts this month so I have a more accurate spends (I do think we were more near £600 than the amount above suggests.
I did mention to DH that I was recording what we were spending but I have now shared the year to date accounts with him, which is an exercise I have completed this month.
May...and we go again, with more knowledge and a renewed motivation (holiday spends are needed).

Not too bad.
Start of January to end of April budgets give us £7.42 within budget overall so I'm happy with that. Hope May goes well.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy6
