New Build Council Tax Valuation Tribunal

I am challenging my council tax band which is an E and I believe should be a D. I have researched evidence of similar properties in the area on Rightmove and done a valuation check on the Nationwide calculator and all are supportive of a lower valuation. The only issue is that my house is a new build and so all the other houses on my street have been valued as E too. The council are using another small development of new builds to set my valuation rather than using older houses in the area to get a more accurate 1991 valuation and banding. How strong is my case in that the valuations I’m using are not on my street but in the nearest village?

It is the VOA who deal with CT bands not the council.

Sorry, but I think your case could be weak as the NW house price index is inaccurate and also using house prices in a nearby village may not be good evidence. Can't comment on RM as have never used it to find house prices
