    The slow cooker seems to be a good idea.  The chicken will be tenderer than cooking in a saucepan and the slow cooker will be leave no sticky sauce like cooking in a saucepan will, hence a lot easier to clean.  A tip is it put in some roughly chopped onions into the sauce.  That will give it a sort of fresh taste and less of a bought-sauce look.
