Flexible denture costs

Hubby needed new dentures was convinced to go for chrome £1200,it was the best thing, when he got them they fell out when he bit a ripe banana, despite lots of poly grip wouldn’t work, told technicians and they made a flexible denture in its place
i think there should be a refund as they’re trying to say flexible are the same price as the useless chrome

    It was done by technicians?

Were they proper clinical dental technicians?
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

We charge the same for a chrome denture as a flexible denture as the laboratory costs are quite similar .

Hi, did the dentist give your husband a proper invoice or quote with all the prices listed for both options? It'd be strange if he didn't receive either.

Only that way will he know whether or not he's been charged correctly and is or is not due a refund.

Hopefully, the dentist will be able to sort the matter out with your husband via a phone call or maybe an email.

If all else does fail and he feels that he'd like to complain, then he could just google "complain about a dentist uk"
BUT in his place, I'd want to find out as much as I could from the dentist.

Don't be afraid of questioning any charges you aren't sure about - it's your money and it's gone into the dentist's pocket.

If, as brook2jack2 suggests, above, the charges are similar, then the dentist's invoices will show that.

Hope that is helpful, just saying what I would do in a similar position. It's a lot of money if your husband isn't happy. But he does really need to find out the exact costs - and it's up to the dentist to provide those figures. I guess it's like most things in life - what may suit one person doesn't necessarily suit everyone.
