My neighbour has 2 solaredge batteries on the side of his property. Again. No special cover.
Why do you need a small structure to house it if it already comes waterproof??So I’m thinking I need a 4 sided structure - would a wood structure be strong enough to hold up a battery and inverter?8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.0 -

Depends on the wooden structure. My timber frame house structure supports a roof of several tonnes!!

What sized battery are you getting. Just bear in mind that a larger battery (GiveEnergy 8.2 or 9.5) weighs about 100kg. Would you feel happy with a large person hanging off the side of your shed? You may be able to get away with standing the battery on bricks for support and then fixing to the wooden structure to prevent it toppling over. The inverter isn't so heavy, but you need air flow around all sides, so that would definitely have to hang of the wall of the structure. Why don't you talk to the installers or to the battery supplier and ask for advice. An alternative may be to go fora modular system like Pylontech batteries that would be small enough to get through a loft hatch and put the inverter and battery in the loft, although you may need to rig up some form of cooling in the summer.0

My batteries are in a plastic chest, makes it less obvious for delivery randoms. Something like a “Keter store it out” would work for inverter and batts.
