Barclays has announced a fresh round of bank branch closures, with 14 more locations set to shut in the summer – in addition to the 41 it had already announced would close this year.

The two branches I have been in to, the staff were useless or it was closed when it was meant to be open. I suspect Barclays has little interest in its' retail operations if you earn under 75k. Sadly many other banks even more reliant on retail are going the same way. Even the local credit union is closing a branch.

It won't make much difference. A rare occurrence this week and I had some cash to pay into my Barclays account. I  did it very quickly, and easily, at my local Post Office counter in the village shop.

Indeed, on the very rare occasion I have a significant amount of cash I usually get rid of it by using it to pay for things instead of my card. I don't know anyone that uses a branch now, I have several relatives in their 80s who all happily bank online.
