Returning Item to Freepost address - proof of delivery

Sorry if wrong forum - please move to more appropriate one if necessary

Just received a DVD from HMV and the disc holder spindle has broken which has meant the disc has been rattling around inside the box and is quite badly scratched. Notice that HMV gives a freepost address to return for refund/replacement product. Just wondering I should send recorded delivery or at least get proof of delivery just incase it goes missing??

I would get proof of posting as its free , if you get recorded you will have to pay that bit yourself

    I've been Money Tipped!
I normally just get proof of postage for returns. I have not had a problem yet with doing that.
  • I had to return a dvd to Asda earlier this year with a freepost return address, just poppe it in the post box, as i thought it would be ok, that was in April, i'm still waiting for a replacement! Suggest you get proof of posting as they will definitely ask for it if your dvd goes missing.

  • i had a faulty 12" sent from hmv. I called customer services and they let me go into a store and swap it for another one. If you could do that you wouldn't have to worry about posting it. (not sure if this is the norm though)
Finally debt free, all thanks to this site and all the posters:j
