Being chased for a debt - Identity theft

Different companies report to different credit reference agencies so they won’t show the same information on you so don’t get too hung up on it all. Just write your letter of complaint to Lowell, get proof of postage/signed for, then wait 8 weeks and then refer to the FOS and/or ICO.1

Just an update, I have had one last response from Overdales, & it was pretty much a carbon copy of what they had last sent to me. Waste of time.
I have now sent complaints to Lowell & to Overdales, so I am just waiting to see what they have to say.
One thing that Overdales did mention in their last response was that because I am claiming it as identity theft I should consider getting a solicitor involved. This isn't really something I am finding myself jumping at because I can imagine it will cost me quite abit, but does anyone have any suggestions, would it be worth doing, & if so what type of solicitors would I need?

What would a solicitor be expected to do?
Just wait for the final response and refer it to the Ombudsman1 -
Well this was my thinking aswell, I don't particularly want to speak or see my ex again & taking this to court would be more hassle than it's worth. I really don't think it would be worth it, I don't really have any proof except that I know 100% that I didn't open the account & that it would have been her phone number & email address that was used on the account, she then changed the address on the account to her parents once the account was opened. I just don't know if it would stand up.
But yeah, I'll wait for their response & then refer it to the ombudsman, thanks fatbelly0
