Changes to Tesco Pay+

is it me or has Tesco switched their entire Pay+ model to payment up front?? I use a Tesco credit card for all my monthly spend then clear it each month. By tying the credit card to Pay+ I got the extra points and extra weeks of credit to pay. The new card is both your Clubcard and debit card - it requires you to top up your card before you spend (taking up to 2 hours for money transferred to be credited) if you want to get the extra points. Having ordered and topped up i don’t think it’s worth it. What does everyone think?

Shoppers can add money and ringfence their grocery spend from any UK bank account into their Tesco Clubcard Pay+ account, using the Tesco Bank mobile banking app.
If you want, you can also use the pre-payment card in any shop, or for online spending.
But you can only spend cash you actively put onto the card - it won't let you spend money directly from a current account.
Tesco Clubcard Pay+ also lets shoppers save while they shop by rounding up their purchases to the nearest pound, saving the difference into a Round Up account.
