Tumble dryer - efficiency label

So I've got an A+++-10% tumble dryer. Ie: a regular one would use 195 kWh (Based on 118 cycles) but this uses 10% less
First of all, the newer labels are based on x kWh per 100 cycles which is much easier to deal with, compared to having to look at the product sheet, and working out your own usage that way
Secondly, I've noticed with every other appliance where their efficiency labels have been downgraded, we see manufacturers releasing much more efficient appliances. We can already buy A rated washing machines and dishwashers on the new scale, at a reasonable cost. I've personally got an A rated washing machine, yet only a D rated dishwasher because I don't need to use the dishwasher all that often, and the costs are quite substantially higher when it comes to moving up the EPC band when it comes to dishwashers
Equally we can already buy C rated fridge freezers at a reasonable cost. A rated ones exist but not quite at the reasonable cost level just yet. They don't however exist yet for American fridge freezers but more efficient ones are slowly being released
Given that, does anyone know why the EPC overhaul didn't and still doesn't affect tumble dryers? Or is it a case of merely just waiting for heat pump technology to mature, with high COPs? Given they ultimately rely on a heat pump to get that A+++-10% figure

Heat pump tumble dryers are not that expensive. I bought one A++ for £400 last October and it's invaluable.

Tumble driers (and ovens) will get their scale normalised to the new system too, they're just still figuring out how to map them across and the new regs haven't been released yet.
3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux1 -

Ditto for ovens. Ovens use way too much power already. Heat pump tumble dryers at least aren't too bad, to the extent that it's cheaper for me than say a dehumidifier but still it'd be good to use a lot less0
