Covid WFH tax relief

Options
Me and my partner both applied for the above during covid as we had to work from home on limited days. How do we check this relief has been given should we have had something from HMRC can we see it on our tax coding ?  We are both basic rate band

  • If you applied during the year in question then the tax code on your P60 would be a good clue.

Do you have those for 2020:21 and 2021:22?

    Code for end 21 C1256L
    End 22 C1259L
    Tax code this year C1248L
Also get tax relief for uniform of 60 pounds

any ideas here regarding how to check the WFH tax relief
  • So 2020:21 suggests nothing was given that year as PA £12,500 + Expenses £60 would be tax code 1256L.

2021:22 is less clear cut as PA £12,570 + Expenses £60 would be code 1263L and yours is lower than that.

2022:23 is similar but there is no COVID-19 WFH claims for this year.

At face value it looks like probably nothing has been given for 2020:21 or 2021:22 but it may have been done after the tax year ended and you got a refund direct from HMRC.  That assuming you paid some tax of course.

You should be able to check on your online personal tax account.
