Wedding venue in liquidation but venue won’t cancel

Options
Hi,

im wondering if there are any sort of timescales or rules that our venue has to follow now that they are in liquidation. Because we are just over two months away from our wedding and the venue has gone into liquidation. The liquidator has asked us to fill in a claim form for lost money.
However the business is still trying to remain in operation while looking for a new owner and they say that they won’t cancel our wedding in the meantime but just want us to wait and see what happens. Obviously we don’t want to just wait and hope our wedding will go ahead. We want them to cancel so we can use our insurance to get a new venue. Or even guarantee our wedding will go ahead, either way we want an answer not to be left in limbo. Is there some sort of regulation that says they have a time limit where they have to tell us yes or no, or can they continue to keep us waiting to see if our wedding will happen right up until the day of?
I’m quite frustrated that I can’t find any clear guidance on this and hoping someone knows something that will help us.
TA.
