I'm getting my state pension from 5 July 2023. What date do you recommend I make payment for the extra years to make sure everything's up-to-date before OAP Day?

There are mixed stories about how long it is taking at the moment. I would suggest you don't leave it to the last minute but have probably got a couple of months spare. A month or two interest on £800 x a few year is not going to amount to much so don't let that stop youI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I was more worried about getting hit by a bus between paying and OAP Day.

You should pay as soon as possible. They say they do a final check just before your pension starts but they didn't with me and I had to call them to get them to give me the uplift which took a few months, and then longer to get the backpay.1

If you haven't already received a letter inviting you to claim your state pension, you should be getting one shortly, as I believe they send them out around four months before your state pension is due.1 -
I paid yesterday - wondering now when the new forecast will appear or if a receipt will be issued before then.p00hsticks said:Yes, I agree - pay ASAP.
