What to do with bits of pensions from lots of previous employers?

Before I worked for myself, I worked for about 6 companies, all but one were US-owned, but all in the UK. I was young, straight out of uni, and know I had company pension benefits with all of them, but didn't understand the detail back then.. and not much has changed.
What on earth do I do about finding out all about these pensions? Some of these companies don't exist any more and were bought out by companies that are still around, some just don't exist.

The pots will be with the pension provider.
Pensionbee might be a good start, that have ways of tracking old pensions1 -
Do you have to "get onboard" with Pensionbee's aggregated pension plan? Or do they offer a separate no-strings tracking service?

You might find that if you only worked with these companies for a short period then in some cases, that you were refunded your contributions when you left0

Have you obtained a state pension forecast?
