@madaboutspots Your gas use is slightly over the mythical “typical household” - but your electricity is more than 4 times higher! I’d also suggest that if you are sure your use is correct, then your current DD suggests you must be in a fix, as at current SVR rates your annual cost would be over £6000! Your overall points remain good, and solid, but somewhere along the line the figures are wrong - I’d hate to think of people thinking they could aim for your use and get the same bills!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ah yes good point.
so EV tariff means 10 months last year @ 5p/kWh and 2 months this year @ 10p/kWh just for the electric car.3 x normal usage at the above costs plus normal usage at standard rate still highlights the issue Churchy seems to have with their bills - granted though I probably wasn’t thorough enough in my explanation.I do still think nearly £600/month for both bills is mad. If we were on standard tariff and our electric usage that would be ours so if same applies here it’s clear an specific EV tariff is required.EH you do excel at the detail 😁👍

It was the electricity use over three times ours with a DD only a little over double that gave the game away! 😆 (and we’re on Economy 7 so also not representative of the situation someone on a single rate tariff would be in!Completely agree that the OP should be able to improve on their current payments though - either they are overpaying and running up credit, or they are using a lot and need to focus on that!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
