Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken with jacket potato with cheese and beans, salad for me. Tonight will be roast chicken portions with potatoes, veg and gravy.
Work was busy but ok yesterday - today will be similar.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all. Thanks very much for all your good wishes for yesterday. It took longer than usual as apparently the tiny pill (for want of a better word) that they put in your eye beforehand to dilate your pupil apparently fell out before it could do a proper job so that made the operation a little more difficult and the doctor had to put stitches in because of it <shudder> All done now though. Now doing target practice to use the drops that I have to have for 3 weeks. Bullseye (perhaps I shouldn't have used that word!) on the third attempt! Not doing alot for the next few days on doctor's orders. Smoked haddock for tea.Take care everyone xx13

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
Chrisca, hope you are ok, your procedure yesterday sounded nasty.
Nelski, I was very sorry to read the other day that you'd had another stroke which had affected your sight, what a blow.
There's snow here, not a lot, but we'll go out anyway, we are on a hunt for new interior door handles. Our existing ones are looking a bit careworn.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can anyway, thinking of our poorly people.
Stay safe and warm folks.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. We have a glorious sunrise over the moors but bloomin' heck it's cold. No snow yet, that's forecast for Thursday. Chrisca your post made me shudder. I hope all goes well and I don't envy you with the eye drops.
BFF was discharged from hospital yesterday after tests showed that the cancer was now on her brain, lung and stomach. It's hard to believe when 2 weeks ago she seemed to be doing so well after the mastectomy and chemo. She was discharged on Gold Line with a prognosis. of a few months. She is determined to live as normally as she can whilst she can. Needless to say today's coffee and lunch day is too much for her but she is hopeful of next week. We have been friends for 70 years, since meeting on our first day at junior school when we were seven, and it's hard to believe she's not going to be here a lot longer.
I am still meeting the 3rd friend today who has been joining us just for lunch so that will break the day up and save me cooking. BFF says she is determined to join us next week and we really hope she can.
Had a long chat with DB last night and he is still waiting for the biopsy results and battling on with his other problems. Life is pretty sh*t for them both just now.
I will make hay while the sun shines this morning, then catch the 11.30 bus down to town to meet my DF for lunch and maybe a glass of wine to toast our absent friend.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
I'm so sorry to hear of your BFF @TravellingAbuela - such shocking news. Also the worries you have about your DB. Sending you much love and strength xxx
Yesterday's procedure sounds awful @Chrisca50 - rest up and hope you get on okay with the drops x
I didn't manage to get on yesterday as was working from the office. I met up with a former colleague who's son (8) is receiving treatment for leukaemia - just horrendous.
WFH today and I have a micro hifi to collect from Wa!trose later - DH had a gift voucher from work for Christmas and our stacking hi fi gave up the ghost a few years ago. We have many CDs so this seemed a good buy. I'm also picking up a couple of bits from Olio - some wicker baskets to make up raffle prizes and 2 vintage Pyrex dishes to Ebay - all for my charity fundraising. Total now c.£9,750 so very pleased with that.
Spaghetti bolognaise for tea - using half 5% beef mince and half Quorn. Will see if DH notices!
Hope our poorlies are doing okay. Good to see you posting @Nelski and @mehefin.
Have a good day everyone

Morning all
Cold and raining here I have put the heating on for a while to warm the place through.
It’s my Birthday today 😀 we will do presents etc later once OH is home, and I’ve got some minty lamb chops as a treat, I do love them but they are so expensive now !
Three clients coming today I was going to suggest going to the local wildfowl trust to see the spring ducklings but it’s pouring down so will have a re-think !Got a lady coming for a meeting with the clients today to see how I am doing, she talks to the clients about what they like and don’t like about coming here, she came yesterday too and so far none of them dislike anything 😀
Chrisca glad the worst is over for you xx
TA I am so sorry to hear about your dear friend what a shock for you all, cancer is an awful disease, sending love and hugs to you all xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Happy birthday RUBY enjoy.your lamb chops! Xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11

Morning
Big Happy Birthday RubyMay your day be filled with lots of lovely cake and wine.
Cold again here. Managed a shower this morning. A wash out of a bed pan really doesn't do the job properly so its so nice to have a proper scrub down (small things count)
Managed 3 bin runs over yesterday so couple more to do today. More washing to do and a kitchen tidy then I should start to be back to normalish.
Thanks Scarlett it is very strange only having one eye, no depth so I tend to miss things Im trying to pick up!! Doctor phoned yesterday and wants 3 BP readings a day to check on the new meds for a few weeks. Will need to set alarms on the phone as its safe to say my memory is a bit rubbish now.
Food wise Im keeping it simple so tonight will be some chilli and a jacket
Have a great day all

Morning all, so many poorly people on here today, big hugs to you Nels, Crisca and TA's BFF and DB...... and anyone else just feeling under the weather or down.
I was feeling under the weather myself yesterday but feel a bit brighter, although my left hip is giving me some gip this morning. Never mind it's nothing compared to some of the stuff a few of you are going through. It's very damp here and we've had flurries of snow although the big snow storm is due tomorrow apparently, we'll have to wait and see if that happens.
Another one feeling poorly this morning is DGD who is here, so not a lot will be done today. Saying that I have filled the dw and set it going and there is a load ready to go in the wm.
RedRuby happy birthday 🎂🎉🍹 enjoy those lamb chops.
Coxy wow ! what a wonderful total, well done
Take care all.
