    I would assume that there are anti avoidance provisions that would prevent me asking my occupational pension providers to suspend and accrue my private pensions

    Your occupational pensions are now in payment in accordance with scheme rules - I think you'd get a polite raspberry from the Administrator if you made any such request...... :)

    Thats what I thought but nothing lost from asking, I guess. Probably tax regs would disallow it anyway.
