You need to contact HMRC and get your 18 digit reference number.
How I've spoken to them several times and their advisor didn't know how to generate it and siad I couldn't use my UTR
(Body is 9 characters too short.)

As an aside, does this "pension adviser" actually understand the intricacies of the Stare Pension ? I would be very shocked to find they did
They are an NHS Payroll / Pensions adviser and they are short of their state pension and they don't understand the system even though they have worked in Payroll and Pensions since the 1970s and they were brought back as a contractor to run the payroll after the new supplier F'd up.
By the way what is the "Stare Pension"

There is a requirement that all posts are at least 10 characters in length, though they can all be spaces.
If you hit the quote button the text inside the quote boxes dont count towards the 10 characters and so if you accidently type your response inside the quote box it will think you have written anything and so reject it. Ideally you just need to make sure your reply is outside of the text you quoted but if you want to put inline text then just stick a thanks and a bunch of spaces under it all1 -
If you are stuck and can't edit your draft post because the cursor is stuck inside the quote tag, you can go to this page:

and click the x next to the draft post which will delete it, allowing you to try to post your reply again with a clean slate.Official MSE Forum Team member. Please use the 'report' button to alert us to problem posts, or email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
