Cancer Charity Telephone Scam?

Got a call on my mobile while driving.. number was private. A lady began thanking me for my support and the amount raised to the Cancer Awareness Appeal in my neighbourhood and how many people had been helped. She then asked if I was still prepared to follow through with my commitment to 8 books at a cost of £195!

Now I had no clue what this woman was talking about, but kept referring to her records as they appeared on her screen. I said I don't do business over the phone and where was the written confirmation? She said that I should have asked for that when, according to her records we spoke in August.

At this point, I'm at a total loss and quite confused. I said, let me have a copy of the conversation, as I'm sure you have records of it, and then we will take it from there.

She said that they will be in touch.

Has anyone heard of Cancer Aware? Was this a scam?
