HSBC Remortgage / BTL / Consent to let dilemma

Hi all

I am due to remortgage in August 2023 with HSBC after a 5 year fix. I wish to let out my property from May/June 2023.

I would prefer to be on Consent to let for obvious reasons (lower rates).

But I dont think the timings stack up but would like to hear peoples experiences with HSBC

I have two options:

1. If I remortgage first, then ask for consent to let, my rate doesn't start until August 2023 does that work? Or will they decide that I am doing a rate switch currently so therefore they will reject consent to let?
2. If I ask for consent to let first, and then try and do a rate switch, they will reject it? I also recall reading somewhere I can't do a rate switch whilst on consent to let?

Any advice ?
