You can't really go wrong with a For Dummies book, e.g. : Project Management for Dummies - UK, 2nd UK Edition: Amazon.co.uk: Graham, Nick: 9781119025733: Books
Don't be phased by the "For Dummies" title. All the For Dummies books do a very good job of giving you the basics you need in a form that you can easily assimilate.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -

I just checked it. This book is 2nd edition. The latest version is the 6th edition that came out last year. Would it be a better idea purchasing the 6th edition instead ?0 -
Yes, the 6th edition would be the one to go for. I haven't read either, but I'm a fan of the For Dummies titles and recommended the 2nd edition just based on its reviews on Amazon.

Open University also do a free project management introductory course which you might be interested in.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Thoroughly recommend "The Project Management Book" by Fergus O'Connell. It's a really great pocket size book that you can carry in a work bag. It's written in a really practical accessible way using everyday examples.1

I think there might only be one version from 2018, but I'd recommend the printed hardback, it's the size of a large phone/small tablet which is makes it easy to carry around. You'll be fine as a newbie, the chapters are short and written in very clear prose using lots of examples and illustrations so it's easy to dive in and out of. It's not pushing you to use a particular piece of software or system but will give you a great background to start.Misteek said:

I'd recommend Project Management QuickStart Guide by Chris Croft, 2022 version, publisher is Clydebank Media. You can buy a kindle version for about £8 or the paperback version is £20."Think of many things, do one"
