Good morning, thanks for starting Gers, hope you're ok.Cold and grey here like yesterday. We had a quiet day yesterday, Dh was busy in the shed sorting out things to go to the tip. I went to our local shops for a few things, and had a look in the charity shops. That was it really, today will probably be similar.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can - take care folks.12

Last night we had another beautiful sunset, not as grand as last weekend but still pretty amazing.Yesterday I drove up to Oban for a wee bit of shopping, completely forgot that I'm going away tomorrow so have bought too much. Most can go in the freezer so won't be wasted. Once I remembered about my trip I set to booking a midway hotel and one for the destination. I'm visiting my nephew and his family in far flung Birmingham and decided to drive. The trains are turning into buses for part of the route and flights are rather expensive and laborious so I'm happier being in charge of my own journey.Today I'm going to start to rejuvenate two very old wooden spoons which were first used by my great-grandmother, and showing their age. The chap up the hill is bringing me some sandpaper, apparently I need two different grades (?) and some oil. Then I have a bit of packing to do too.DP1 - your beloved little one is really going through all sorts of mills. She's a real wee star.Bella - I hope that you're doing OK, still missing your posts.Nelski - and you too!
Izzy - I know you'll have a wonderful time in Northumberland. There are so many beautiful places to visit.A wee while ago I was taken right back to being 11 years old by hearing 'As tears go by' on the radio. Suddenly I was remembering my stay in Windermere, very spooky though lovely.Happy Saturday to all.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. The promised cold start has arrived brr. I hope they are wrong about the snow forecast for this week.
I had a lovely lunch out with my DF yesterday, everything on the carvery was lovely (as was the wine!) It was very quiet and we were able to chat and catch up in peace.
DS is coming at some point today to dismantle my kitchen mixer tap and clear the filters. It's dripping again. It happens far too often and it's a right farce taking them to bits.
Not much planned otherwise but living from the freezers again is showing odd gaps so I could do with sorting them out and just see what there is out there. I keep doing inventories and never stick to them.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better and MIA. If I'm not too late then have a lovely breakaway IZZY. If anyone deserves a relaxing holiday it's you! My DS and his DP found a lovely cottage right on the beach in Northumberland and it's now their bolthole for getting away from it all. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning..No idea why I'm up this early considering the time when I went to bed...Present went down a storm thank god, or he's a very good actor. We had kebabs, it's been a long time since I had one of those. When I worked 12 hr nights/days, sometimes on the last night of the set we'd send someone for kebabs from the van, it was a real treat to have something warm and fresh at two in the morning. Usually a chicken one for me. One of the other guests had brought a cake, lemon curd, oh my god, so nice! That was the straw that broke the stomach though, I was rolling around on the sofa clutching my belly for a while last night. Today it's local pub time where I will repeat 'something healthy' a lot of times in my head and see if it sticks. Yesterdays vet visit was far more stressful with Fatty so will have ot remember that for next time. I felt like a right heel when I got him home, but he was so happy to be home he smashed his face into my feet for a good five minutes. So they had double tuna yesterday..All this talk of beaches and bracing weather makes me want to play too. But have a lovely time Izzy and family of Izzy. Gers, forgetting you're going away is a major forget! Big new calendar? ENjoy being away too and drive safe. Ruby, hope your cafe visit was nice too..Take care all the p's people [pee d off, poorly] and everyone else....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Morning all, it's very dull here. We don't have to be out until a bit later for DGS football. I let pooch out at 7.30 only for her to be barked at by newish puppy next door, he's turning into a real yapper. We have a gate on either side of the garden in case windowcleaners etc need access so they can see each other. He's tiny and she's a giant and doesn't know what to make of him, her tail wags slowly and then she turns round and ignores him which makes him yap more
but apparently he wants to be out all the time so it might be a bit of a pain if we're sat out in summer!
Hope little one is ok this morning dp1.Enjoy your trips Gers and Izzy.Taff glad Fattys trip ended in double tuna. Ly1a hates going to the vet, she gets so scared she has been known to wee in fright in the consulting roomRight better get ready, hope it's a happy Saturday for you all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning everyone and thanks for starting us Gers.
Yesterday I went with a friend to see the Elvis film, which we enjoyed but it was sad.
Hope you all have a happy Saturday.9 -

Big new calendar? ENjoy being away too and drive safe.Ah, there's a reason for it! I was supposed to go last week but cried off because of my poorly ribs, promised to do it this coming week and then realised that the days had rushed by, time becomes rather wibbly-wobbly here! All sorted now, I have a plan for the (not very much) excess stuff. My closest friend sent me a tub of round balls of liquorice covered flavoured with 'birthday cake' and covered in white chocolate, or perhaps it's yoghurt. Trouble is I really dislike liquorice, she's forgotten that, so now will need to re-gift the present. I feel awful but needs must.11

Morning all
Dull and overcast here but no rain due, I have a load in the wm which I might hang out for a while.
OH and I have got to do a tip run today with a load of bits from the shed clear out, there is also my old bike to get rid of but I will put that out the front with a free notice on its a good bike just a bit small for me, it will do someone a turn.
The lunch out was lovely yesterday mum really enjoyed it, I took her to the butchers afterwards and she got her self a load of meat which is so much nicer than the SM meat.
Housework to do this morning and then a rest this afternoon with a film 😀
Izzy enjoy your time away x
Gers safe travels and enjoy xx
Have good days all xx10 -
Morning everyone
I slept till half 9 this morning - didn't know where I was as I'd washed my bedding so I slept in little one's bed in the front bedroom - it's a lot darker in there than my room.
Still got a sore head though not quite so bad, fed up with it now. Little is going to come up for a play later to cheer me up and give DD a break - it's fine so I'll get her out for a play on her bike.
Had a nice chat with eldest DD last night - she was waiting for a train to Berlin - her friend has flown over from Stockholm and they're spending the weekend together there.
Gers and Izzy - enjoy your trips away.
Hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
Morning All
Beautiful bright sunny day here, bedding and another load on the line, the towels are in the WM doing their stuff.
Have a great holiday Izzy, you certainly deserve a break.
Glad you're feeling a bit better dp1, hope the little one is fully recovered.
Have a good trip Gers, enjoy being with your family.
I've been for a swim and just had breakfast - a roll with egg in. Got a surprise when I cracked the egg and it was a double yolk, haven't seen one for years.
Off to DD's later, some very good friends of ours are visiting so I'll catch up with all the chat and have lunch.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX10
