Bottle and can return scheme

There is to be a plastic bottle and aluminium can return scheme in England, I understand it will commence in 2024
The scheme does not include glass, but there will be a requirement for councils to do curbside collections. How many don't recycle glass now?

There has been news stories about the problems of the Scottish scheme. How is that different from the scheme in England?

I used to work for a big international tech company.  Its stock value crashed after a tech stock bubble burst a few decades ago.  It was quoted in the US where there is a refund on glass bottles.  Somebody pointed out that if you had bought bottles of beer, drunk the beer and then claimed the deposit on the bottles, it would have been a better investment than buying the stock of this company at around the peak in its share price.

This return scheme is a big deal for drinks companies. I thought about buying shares in barr, but thought it was risky.
