    Don't forget that you can register for Land Registry alerts that will tell you as soon as someone tries to make a change to the title register for your property. This will automatically let you know when Nationwide make the change without having to pay £3 every few months. You should register for these alerts anyway in case someone tries to "steal" your home. It's probably more important once you don't have a mortgage, as fraudsters don't have to worry about dealing with a mortgage lender if they attempt an illicit sale.
