L'Occitanne alternatives

Just finished a bottle of the almond oil shower gel, really like the product and it's been great for my skin. But, trying to be more conscious on my spend wondered if there were some cheaper alternatives worth trying. TIA

Have you had a look at the Body Shop?   They often have limited edition shower gels.   Or even Yves Rocher?   I like their body washes and lotions

Bioderma atoderm shower oil is my favourite, not as heavily scented as the above but the texture is outstanding and it feels like luxury, I recently bought a litre bottle from sephora online for around £19 as they had an offer on it, shop around as there's often deals on this brand.

My wife loves the L'Occitane but rarely (if ever) pays full price.
She is a "member" if that is the correct phrase of the loyalty programme - that often gets great discounts.
    QVC regularly run promotions.
There are also stores in various outlet centres, such as Bicester Village, Gunwharf Quays, if you have something like that near you.
Various stockists tend to have discount / promotional events from time to time.  I know there was a thing at John Lewis recently (via the My JL loyalty card) where the products were being virtually given away at the same sort of price as men's toiletries in Tesco.
If you like the brand - and it is lovely - it is worth learning the tricks.

That's really helpful thank you, I've been wanting to visit Bicester Village for awhile so the reasons are building up.

Will also look into the MyJL card, I shop there quite often, but in the mindset of always rejecting ant store cards.

Sorry only just seen your response, I did order a cheap sephora oil but its rather disappointing, will look out for the Bioderma next time I order

I don’t think there is a dupe for almond shower oil, but I’d like to find one!

The reason L'Occitane is expensive is it uses relatively expensive ingredients.  The first ingredient of the shower oil is grapeseed oil - most cheaper shower 'oils' have water and glycerin as the first ingredients, and lots of synthetic ingredients instead of actual plant oils (not that there's anything wrong with synthetic ingredients per se, they just do a different job so they won't make your skin feel the same, especially over time, as the L'Occitane).

Noughty shower oil might be an option - not so luxurious, but still made from plant oils.  The Body Shop does some as well, not cheap but cheaper than L'Occitane.  If you want it to foam it needs to contain a detergent, these ones do (Laureth-3/Laureth-4, similar to L'Occitane).

Thank you @Spoonie_Turtle that's really interesting, I'm not one that generally looks at the ingredients but perhaps I should.

I have a birthday coming up so think I'll add to my list whilst I think of it.

I say add to list but that's literally all that's on there

Aldi has a new almond shower oil that could be a good substitute for the L'Occitane one:

Credit to @MSE_Rhiannon for spotting it.

If anyone tries it out, please do report back.
  • Thank you @MSE_Laura_F Aldi dupes are often pretty good. Will keep an eye out for that one
