Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was pizza, hot quiche, salad and chips.
List of a few chores to do today and working tomorrow morning.

Morning All
Still dry out and due to be a fairly sunny day so the washing is out, very chilly, my hands are frozen!
Went for a longer swim again last night, I'm doing a sponsored swim for Diabetes UK starting later this month - 22 miles (not all at once!) so am doing a bit of training for that.
Work continues to be relentless but yesterday was quite good fun. The gates to the school are now locked so anyone who needs to come in has to phone for someone to unlock the gates and that appears to be me, managed more than my 10,000 steps yesterday!
I popped over to the cheap food shop yesterday for some supplies, got an M&S turkey crown that had been £75 for £5 already frozen so it's in the freezer for the next time the family come for dinner. Will do the rest of the shopping later - my lunchtime salads are looking rather bare.
Hugs to everyone in need, hope you all have a happy Friday, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Brr it's a nippy start but we just scraped in above freezing. Tomorrow is forecast to be below freezing so double brr!
It will be another half hearted Friday Tidy here as I am off out for late lunch. I got £10 off emailed from the carvery as a birthday gift. It's over a week until my birthday but a DF and I are going to use it today. I booked 2pm so the lunchtime rush should be over by then. We will then retire to the little bar (bottle in hand!) and put the world to rights for an hour or so. It will make a nice change from my usual boring Friday.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better and MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning folks.Still no rain, this past week has been the longest dry spell since early last year. Pity that it's blooming freezing. My grass is sopping wet, no chance of getting it cut yet.My telephone appointment with the practice nurse was very productive. We sorted out the confusion over blood tests, seems that the surgery call patients in during their birthday month without the system recognising some done within the past few weeks. Then I organised another call to my doctor about my hip and another slight issue. Great service, doc called back, discussed my hip, referred me for an X-ray and a very prompt face to face with a female doc 'can you be here in 40 minutes'. All sorted with minimum fuss or wait.Today is still to be decided. No phone call from Australia this morning, my friend is going to the Ed Sheeran concert in Melbourne and my SIL will be busy looking after grandchildren and goats. I'll have a few more minutes in bed!
Camelot - surely a better system can be installed?TA - enjoy your 'birthday' lunch.Happy Friday to all.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
That's a great bargain for the turkey crown @camelot1001. Well done on the swim training - I am a poor swimmer - would love to be more confident
Have a great time at the carvery @TravellingAbuela x
I didn't know that about MP tours @Gers so thank you. I will check it out.
Glad DS is doing okay @topsyturphy but OMG to the car woes, so frustrating!
Glad little one's spots are fading @dp1 - I have been to the Ceremony of the Keys - very special.
WFH today. It's my BFFs birthday today and she is off out for a posh lunch with her DH. I spoke with her last night as she has some worries about her uncle who is living like Mr Treebuss from Life of Grime (if anyone remembers that series?) She has taken him to his GP but wanted to offload how utterly frustrating it is getting any help or advice re: Adult Social Care for someone who doesn't have dementia, but has just 'given up'. Very sobering conversation. She is such a lovely person and is already dealing with her DDad's health issues.
We are having chicken pesto pasta tonight. Just DH and I as DS2 is eating out with his GF. FC tomorrow morning. Don't think I've lost anything this week but we shall see!
Have a good day all

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's not raining, hope it stays dry, I might put some washing out.
I had a much better night last night, though I was exhausted from the night before - thanks for your concern everyone, you're very kind. I am a bit of a worrier anyway, and in the middle of the night small worries seem to magnify. The stupid thing is, in the grand scheme of things, I don't have any major problems, it's just me being daft.
I was shocked to read that Candygirl had passed away, how sad. I remember her posts on here.I
Camelot you'll be worn away to a shadow with all that walking!
Hope you enjoy your lunch out TA, It'll be nice to have a chat with a friend.
Not a great deal happening here today. There's a pair of jeans to take up for my dg s 16, and his dad asked me to alter a pair of his own trousers to inside leg 33" , but that's what they are now, as I discovered when I measured them. I'll have to sort that out with him.
Thoughts to our poorly people, take care folks.12 -
Morning everyone last day at work today fora whole week I am ready for some time off I feel shattered but I will be raring to go in the morning up to Northumberland for the week people keep telling me it has to snow I don’t care it’s not as if I’m going to be missing the red hot weather where I live it will be lovely if not freezing walks on the beach a trip over to holy island and no work a nice change of scenery. It’s cold here this morning and damp I’ve got packed I just have a cool bag to pack with some food we are taking up I will do that in the morning we can’t get in the cottage until 2 but we will have a steady drive up and pop in somewhere for lunch and a cuppa everywhere is dog friendly so the little dog can come in with us . Camelot well done on the swim something I’ve never been able to do you really do miss out on a lot of things when you can’t swim and well done on the Turkey what a bargain TA enjoy your lunch out . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all, it's a bit chilly,3deg so at least not freezing but colder and snow predicted next week.DH had a call yesterday from the insurance upping their valuation slightly on the van which he's accepted , it's unlikely they'd go any further. Apparently the van is now going for salvage. So the hunt is on for a replacement and we only have the hire one for another 6 days. It will end up costing us money, very annoying when you consider it was parked up at the front! .....and breathe. We did collect DGS from school, it was lateish when we got back home as DS was still at work. We lit his logburner as his house was freezing. I did vacuum ours downstairs but the big tidy up didn't happen! Perhaps today ;)I did go for a nice walk though.Fish for tonights tea, lemon sole goujons for the men & I've got a seabass fillet, nice and easy from the O cado buy 3 offer. 1 pack of nice looking cod fingers in the freezer too.Izzy enjoy your holiday , safe journey, and TA enjoy your unexpected Friday lunch out!I hope everyone is keeping well/or feeling better and you all have a nice day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Cold but dry here, wm is about to finish so I will hang the washing on the line for a while.
Day off for me today and DD and I will take mum out to lunch later, there is a local cafe which is part of a gardens and they have a little gift shop, I have lived in this area 46 years and have never been to it, I took the clients for tea and cake during the week and the food looked lovely so I said I would take mum today.
Will have a quick tidy this morning but the main clean can wait till tomorrow.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning..Gearing up to put Fatyy in the cat carrier. He's a big old lump and may not even fit so that should be interesting. Off to a friends house tonight for their birthday, hopefully he'll like his present, he's going to have to do some work to make it, but he is an artist, so he may enjoy it..I'm hoping he will anyway. Other than that, there's crocheting in my immediate future [ please god don't anyone get me another blanket kit, I will lose the will to live] and parcel wrapping. I was OHs mums birthday this week so we're going to see them tomorrow, they've been away all week on holiday, good job too, their gas is knackered and they have to wait till the 8th to get it fixed. Also tomorrow, a lunch out with friends. This is turning into the busiest month ever for things.camelot, well done on a fab bargain! And the steps?
TA, enjoy your impromptu meal out. Gers, that's great service...hope you improve! Coxy, hope she can get some help for him, is there nothing he's interested in hobby wise where he can meet other enthusiasts? Scarlet, everything always seems worse in the night and then the daylught comes and !!!!!!...izzy, I hope your holiday is fantastic, you deserve one...Rosy, what a pain in the backside...OK, going to stop there because it's time to herd the cat...Take care all...

Afternoon everyone - I'm late today
Didn't go to work yesterday or today - my headache turned into a horrendous migraine early evening and was so painful that it kept me awake most of the night. I was sick all night too! I've had migraines since I was a teenager but they've never made me sick before - it was awful. Youngest DD suffers badly with migraines and she is always very sick with them. I've just ate a slice of toast and had a cup of tea, headache still there but just slightly. I've put my bedding in the wash and I'm going to run a bath - I feel stinky.
DD had to rush little one to RVI again last night - she was screaming with pain in her tummy and retching. She rang for an ambulance but there weren't any near here so she was told to drive and ring for one on the way if necessary. 60 miles is a long way to drive with a child crying in pain. Never mind they got there and she was quickly sorted - they were home again about 6 this morning.
Camelot - think your head needs to get a buzzer installed so the gate can be opened from the inside. Was your turkey from one of those community shops? I wish we had one here. Yet another of a high street shops is closing at the end of the month.
Izzy - enjoy your trip to Northumberland. It is meant to be cold next week but forecast sunshine as well as snow showers and it's beautiful here when it's frosty. I love a walk along the beach on a cold day. Hope you enjoy the break.
Well I'm going to go sort my bath x9
