    If you've used the standard template that you said you did then those were 'without prejudice' discussions and cannot be brought up in court.

    I'm not saying it is or isn't SB. Only a court could decide. 

    I've suggested a strategic route to getting the best deal.

    Those two little words "without prejudice" can make all the difference to the outcome here.

    I would try to avoid making these debt purchasing companies any richer than they already are.

    My next contact with them would be the statute barred letter, pointing out all your previous communications cannot be used against you, if that were to fail, you can still continue with your settlement strategy.
