Employment vetting

My employer recently told staff that due to access restrictions on database MV vetting was required for all who use the system. I passed the vetting but we were later told that MV level was no longer required and entire vetting process was scrapped. Basic level was now adequate.
The employees who were still waiting for clearance are now asking what happens to the MV online forms they submitted. How long can their personal data be kept for? Employer has not provided an answer. If there is no purpose to holding the data any longer surely it can be destroyed?

Then they need to push the employer for an answer, but I wonder what information they have supplied that wasn't already on their record that is causing concern?aj16_2 said:My employer recently told staff that due to access restrictions on database MV vetting was required for all who use the system.
