I have a mortgage that runs til I'm about 82...I don't live in the property, my son does...I have about £10K credit card debt and would like to consolidate my mortgage to get rid of this debt...current mortgage company said no citing the fact that that I don't live there being the stumbling block.
Would I have any chance with any other providers?

Don't convert non secure debt into secured debt. What if you struggle to pay and when your deal ends and interest rates rise. What happens then is you could lose your home.
