… and I’ve just been refunded for some of OHs favourite chocolates for his birthday that arrived in a damaged box, with no need to return them. He can still have them, he won’t mind - it’s not the box he’s interested in! 🤣

Aw the universe is trying to support you with these little wins here and there. The roofing bill sucks, but if you put It off it could be really costly in the long run. I think once you've made the decision on how to borrow the money you'll instantly feel more relaxed because the decision is made and it's done. I do think that sometimes the procrastinating before making the decision is the worst part. X

Are you able to do money transfers on your credit card to pay for roof?
Or get a new money transfer card if not?

The interest free period for money transfers on my CC has long gone, MFWannabe, but I’ll look into others. Thank you for that, I hadn’t thought of it.

    Is it Friday yet?! 😫

I don’t feel like I’ve achieved much today and people are getting on my nerves! OH has annoyed me today, DS is moody and customers have been a PITA today!
To try and get something positive out of the day, I’ve put some waterproof sealant tape stuff around a particularly poorly finished window frame downstairs to tidy it up, and have also applied it around the base of the shower tray to cover where it’s gone black and can’t be cleaned. I bought the stuff for that very purpose well over a year ago and never got round to it, but it looks much better now I’ve done it. That’s a tick for today.

DS wanted food early tonight as he was ravenous when he got home, so I cooked early for him. I haven’t eaten yet, am not hungry, but there’s hoisin chicken and rice if I fancy it later, if not it will be lunch tomorrow.

I was bored earlier so set to and made myself do something useful and baked the layers for DS’s birthday cake. I’ll wrap them when they’ve cooled and build the cake and ice it over the next couple of days. The house smells lovely now. :)

Another evening of a stroppy teen, this time because I wouldn’t let him go running to ‘train’ around an unlit field in the pitch black darkness. Not only the safety issues, but to me it’s a sure fire way to break an ankle or leg when you can’t see the uneven ground, but then I overreact apparently! Someone send a bucketful of patience my way please… They’re not teens forever…. They’re not teens forever…

I’m bored and I need something to do. I have no more sorting out to tackle and I don’t have much patience left for any in depth tasks tonight. I’m going to wander round the house and see what I can fill my time with before it feels like a waste of an evening. 😑

Maybe you can research money transfer cards and it will be a worthwhile task in the end. When I told my teens no about something they wanted to do and of course they answer back and then you want to reply , I always remember my mums advice "the less you say the better" and just walk away. It helped me immensely over my children's teenage years . It will pass this stage of life for a teenager and I think you do an amazing job with your son , especially as your ex sounds awful and you are bringing your son up alone . Give yourself some grace tonight and tomorrow is a new day.

Thank you Sunshine_girl2, it sounds like your Mum gave good advice! I sometime make the mistake of trying to explain why I’ve said no to something, but DS already has his back up from not getting the decision he wanted, it doesn’t get heard anyway and he sees it as arguing the point, which it really isn’t! I shall try and channel the ‘less is more’ response in future. It’s not easy, but I wouldn’t be without him. We have also had some really wonderful moments together and lots of fun this week too. ❤️💙

I’ve looked into the money transfer option and have applied for one this evening, we’ll see what the result of that is. It’s 0% for 12 months so I would definitely make it a priority to pay that off before the 12 months are up.

I always found explaining the next day where all is calm was helpful, of course different things work for different situations, there are no perfect parents , well non I have ever met. Glad you got the money transfer card sorted if needed .
