Credit Style Ltd - Debt Agency acting for Administrators of defunct Simplicity Energy Ltd

Anyone else having difficulty with this agency?
My mum was signed up to Simplicity when she died in May 2020. Simplicity was informed that the property was unoccupied and would remain so until sold (December 2021). Despite this Simplicity continued to estimate energy based upon previous usage and upon it's demise in January 2021 calculated a large and inaccurate final bill which the Administrators subsequently put in the hands of Credit Style.
After two years I am still grappling with this. For a long time Credit Style claimed to have no knowledge of this outstanding debt even though they were writing to my solicitor and the unoccupied property. In recent months the agency has declined to discuss the matter "due to data protection". Even now after my eligibility as an Executor has been proven to the Administrators which in turn wrote to the agency there is still no contact and/or attempt to discuss/agree the outstanding amount using the actual meter readings in my possession

Sympathies on the loss of your mum, credit style are just a collection agency, and will likely have been assigned the debt on an equitable basis, which means they have no power to enforce payment of the debt, so basically you can just ignore them.
They will have been acting on behalf of simplicities administrators, so any issues should be taken up with the administrators, not the collection agency, as they will have no interest in resolving such matters.
If your late mothers estate lacks sufficient assets to cover the bill, it will remain unpaid anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
