Yet another NI & State pension question
Tax_Slave
I have paid 39 years NI contribution and not worked in uk since 2013.
For 2017/2018, 2019/2020 and 2021/2022 the state made NI contributions due to me being too sick to work.
I got sickness benefit or zero / £0 per week and NI paid.
My state pension forecast says I will get the max pension per week when it’s paid in 2029 (December), if I live that long aka to 67, but that’s another story.
Here we go ….a relative told me of a friend who has paid 44 years NI, was told they would get a full state pension , have not worked in last 5 years , but now they have gone to claim state pension it’s reduced amount aka not full amount.
Is this possible?
As I have stopped claiming sickness benefit of zero/£0 per week last year and will not work until my state pension is paid in 2029, should I be concerned?
Thanks for reply in advance.

The friend obviously didn't read the forecast correctly. The top line amount is what you can get going forward providing you make the necessary contributions stated. Your forecast may give several amounts, what does yours show?

This is saying that you have already accrued a full state pension and further NI payments wont improve on this so there is nothing to worry about.Tax_Slave said:Marcon said:
