Hybrid Working and Mortgage Application

The WFH concept is ever evolving. I realise that it's a long time since the OP posted, but I feel like if I was them, more concerning is the goalposts potentially changing than the technicalities of obtaining the mortgage. Where I work, over the last four years, the expectations have changed four times! I feel like they need to be comfortable with the possibility of commuting every day. At least, consider the possibility, or moving jobs as a consequence.0

I bought in Manchester, office/work address is in London.Got a call from an underwriter about it. The two things they probed on were:
- how often would I need to be in London for work- did I have friends/family connections in ManchesterExactly as others above have said, I sensed the asks were to establish whether I was really planning to actually let the property out, or change jobs imminently.Explained that my work had gone completely remote since the pandemic, and that I’d rented in Manchester before and had friends in the area. Now I didn’t need to tie my home location to my work, Manchester was where I wanted to live. All accepted easily in a 5 min phone call. So the OP should be fine with his family connections, and working situation. But do expect a call from an underwriter!0
