Received a message that this is closing, effective 25th March 2023 and to cash in points by 24th March 2023:

Dear HuYu user,

We are sorry to inform you that HuYu will stop operating.

This is a 30-day notice to you before HuYu shuts down on 25 March 2023.

Please redeem your eligible HuYu points according to HuYu Terms before
24 March 2023.

Once your HuYu points have been redeemed for your choice of voucher, please see the voucher’s T&Cs and Privacy Notice for expiration date and other conditions of use.

    Is anybody struggling to redeem; I get the following message, when I try to redeem:  'Oops! Something went wrong - please try again later'.

    Alternatively has anybody redeemed a balance successfully since the closure notice?

    I've written to Huyu and am awaiting a response.
  • The same. I've emailed them and heard nothing. My friend managed to redeem just after they announce it. I've got £10 worth.

    Glad it's not just me; I'll post any response I receive on here.  I wrote again as it's definitely a general issue because I loaded the app onto a tablet and hit the same problem.  The holding company is a subsidiary of Tesco PLC and is reputable, so the issue likely to be sorted.  They are due to send further closure reminders; I guess the next one will include an update.

    You can find information about the closure of the HuYu app on our FAQs here: https://huyuapp.co.uk/closurefaqs.html

    If you are trying to redeem and an error populates the screen, this means we are currently out of rewards. Rest assured, this will be resolved by the end of 06/03/23.

    If you haven't received your voucher from Tango Card via email after redeeming your points, take a screenshot of your "Rewards" tab and send it to us through the in-app help function on your HuYu app. The in-app help function can be found under the "Account" tab on your app under the "About" section and right at the bottom you will see "Contact us". Click this to be taken to your chosen email app provider to raise a ticket. Do not edit the subject line, as we need this to identify your account. Without this ticket, we cannot correctly identify your account/redemption.

    Please redeem all your redeemable points before our closure on 25/03/23. Any points under the 500-point threshold for redemption that are still left on your account after the closure will be lost. Unfortunately, you cannot redeem anything less than 500 points.

    If you have a pending redemption and are awaiting a response - rest assured, these will be resolved.

    If you're experiencing issues with e-receipts:
    • Go to your sent messages
    • Find the order confirmation email you sent to e-receipt@mail.huyuapp.co.uk
    • Forward this exactly as you sent it to help@huyuapp.co.uk

    Update to Above:

    I was able to redeem 2 x £5 vouchers at around 17:30 today, so all is well.  I will have another 500 points to redeem by 24th March closure so "should" be able to clear down the account in time (still need 65 points or 13 receipts).
